A few days ago a good friend of mine and I went to a local tree farm (wonderful place) so that I could take some test/prep shots for some upcoming christmas photos I am taking for a few families. I was wearing some thin cargo pants, and my birkinstocks (and socks because I am lame and don’t care). So we had myself and BG/LG and my friend and her 12 year old son, and twin toddler boys. Walking along I felt something on my leg below the knee. I remember shaking my leg, and whatever it was crept up HIGHER and touched my knee. It felt BIG, it was crawling up my pants. I put LG down away form me and began jumping up and down and screaming. I remember looking at my friends face while I did this. She looked at me in shock, I don’t even think she said anything accept maybe “are you okay”. The THING crept up to my thigh. In the space of about 2 seconds I remember thinking, “I can’t take my pants off in public”, and then as I felt it creep up higher, my thoughts went to “oh heck YES I AM TAKING OFF MY PANTS RIGHT NOW BEFORE THIS THING GETS UP HIGHER!”.
So I did, as quickly and spastically as one can manage while screaming, I took my pants off, and while I did this the 12 year old boy turned around which in the moment was just really hilarious but at the time I remember seeing him turn around but I didn’t really care. So there I am standing in the middle of a dirt path on a tree farm, with 5 kids and my friend starring at me in shock, as I stand in my shirt and underwear. It was one of those moments in life, one of those moments that anytime you begin to remember it, Â you simple can not stop smiling and laughing.
My friend picked up my pants, and we found a large stick in them. It was after all, not a spider, lizard or strange animal. It was a stick. You guys, I am telling you it felt like it was CRAWLING up my leg, it seriously was. So I get my pants back on, the 12 year old is walking ahead of us and ignoring us as we are just about dying laughing. We both turned so red we laughed so hard. It’s really wonderful to laugh that long and that hard, I think everyone needs that every once in a while! The 12 year old did make a point to say goodbye to me before we left, and his mom promises he is not to upset over seeing me go crazy, I did have a long shirt on thankfully! As we continued to walk, one of the men who works the farm came by on his golf cart, I thought he came because of my screaming but it turns out he did not near me scream, and we told him briefly what had happened without too much detail and he said “you have to be careful around here, the sticks will literally crawl up your pants” and we busted out laughing again. My friend made me promise I would wear tall boots and tuck in my pants so as not to re-enact the experience for anyone else I will be photographing there. I about flipped out when I felt that thing going up my leg, I seriously thought it was going to get me!!!
LOL!! It’s a dark and gloomy day here in Massachusetts and I really needed a laugh. Thanks for sharing:)

Is it always Please and More that are the popular signs? Those two were the ones that my own son were big on. He did more for a long time after he knew how to say the word, and he’s two and a half and he STILL uses the please sign when he says the word out loud.
