All of my patterns are on sale for $5 until December! A treat for my customers, and for those wishing to knit some holiday gifts this year.
If I can get milk out before December (I should be able to!) then it will be on sale as well. Knitting as fast as I can but doing some traveling and it’s very hard to knit while traveling with little ones!
Only a year and a-half ago I released my first pattern ever, the Country Kiddie (Ravelry).
Now I have available for you (after many requests) a toddler version of my most popular pattern, knit up in DK weight yarn for faster knitting and more cotton-blend yarn choices.
That is indeed, the same model. Miss BG herself. It’s amazing how much she has grown and how much has changed since that first pattern was released. I hope you love the new “big girl” version!

knitting with a newborn is hard. Actually no, knitting with a newborn AND a toddler in the house, now that’s hard! At night when I *want* to knit, I *need* to sleep. So I don’t get much knitting done.
I did manage to knit up an adorable wrap top for LG that I had attempted to knit while pregnant (frogged twice), but alas she grew faster then I knit, and at 2.5 months she won’t fit into the Newborn so now I have to knit a 3 month size. I always seem to knit each of my patterns twice and it will give me a chanse to tweak the pattern so I guess it’s for the best, but really my goal was to capture her as a newborn in a hand knit. I suppose I’ll have to settle for capturing her as an “infant”. Here are the woe-begun photos of her. She’s adorable, the sweater is adorable, but alas her belly is big and it’s a bit snug looking on her (but fits very comfortably as the yarn stretches really nice). It’s knit in Wollmeise Natural and scalloped in Frosh Harmonic.
It’s going to be called “Milk” and features fold-over cuffs. I’ll let you know when it’s ready for mass consumption. Here I go, knitting it again!

Here we are at nearly 2 months with little LG. Things have been so much different this month then from last month. With BG in daycare until 2:30 each day I am given a wonderful amount of freedom to spend alone-time with my precious baby. I cherish each moment knowing I am lucky to have it Had we waited another year or two to have a baby, this would have come naturally with BG in Pre-School, so it’s nice to be able to have this time given how close in age they are.

She is a sweet and smiling thing. I get smiles nearly anytime I ask (prop her sitting up and speak to her in a happy voice, that’s all it takes!). I’ve finally got into cloth diapering more (but still not nearly enough). She cried when I put the pre-folds on her so I switched to cotton-velour fitted diapers which I like a lot. A fitted is a fancy pre-fold made of fancy fabrics made with loads of snap in layers (for optional thickness) and for closing it on the outside. You can also put a water proof cover on the outside but I find it too bulky and just make sure to change her regularly.
I somehow managed to work on the HTML for the newest issue of Petite Purls and along with Allegra and Joan we got that pushed out the door, all with a newborn! Now I have had some time to work on my knitting projects, and I am very hurriedly trying to finish a cute little newborn (0-3 months) top before she outgrows it.
Speaking of growing at her 1 month appointment she had gained nearly 3 (!!) pounds! 3 ounces a week they said, wowza! We’ve had a lot of spit up due to the fact that she tends to over-eat and as her digestive system works to mature. I have never had to do so much laundry in my life, it’s insane how much she spits up but she mostly seems happy about it so we are trying not to stress about it! My nights have been better then with BG because I actually am able to nurse in bed, something that was uncomfortable with BG and I actually very much hated doing. Now I can do it very easily and it has helped a lot with my lack of sleep.
She has given some laughs and smiles at her big sister and I know I’m going to be really excited once they start interacting more. We finally are able to use the infant swing with her, she didn’t like it at first but this week we’ve used it to get her to sleep each night. She’s an odd little thing who rarely if ever nurses to sleep. If she does falls sleep nursing she wakes up very easily soon after. She sometimes will just fall asleep while laying on the ground or bed next to me, something BG would never do so it’s taken some getting used too! I know it will come in handy later though so I’m very glad she’s able to do that all on her own!
We are having lots of fun trying to guess what her eye color will be and I’ve had a hard time catching it with the camera. It’s a very gray blue color with hints of maybe green or hazel, but it doesn’t photograph that color at all. Maybe they will turn green, or brown or very likely hazel like my dad and husbands.
