summer lovin’

I’ve been having a lot of fun this summer, it’s been really busy and I spend a lot of time inside away from the heat but seeing the girls grow together has just been phenomenal. Having LG very close to turning one has been tugging on my heart strings, she’s not a baby anymore and as much as I am not one to move backwards or freeze time, I have to admit it gets me a bit teary. It is just so fun to see the girls play together more. Both BG and I are anxiously waiting for LG to want to hold our hand when she walks. Yes, she is walking and lots! All over the place, with her legs all bowed out like a sumo wrestler! It’s quiet funny, and she really loves walking all over the place. She also loves climbing. The two of them just love to be together, even if they can’t exactly play together I know it won’t be long before they can. I’m often playing referee, but they both love each others company.

Big sister is about to turn THREE! Can you believe it? Wow, I sure can’t. Her language gets better and better all the time, her favorite thing to say now is “but” and she will find a way to fit it into a sentence 5 times, or she will ask “stop talking for me mama” because I used to always repeat what she said to make sure I understood her, guess I need to break that habit!

I don’t have a link for it, but I read an article by Dr. Sanjay Gupta on CNN a while ago, and it said how the air inside our houses is often 6 times more polluted then the air outside our house, and that having house plants can get rid of up to 90% of that bad stuff, so I’ve gone crazy with plants. I’ve killed two baby rose plants, but the ivy seams to stand up to any amount of abuse, and then I like to get cut flowers from the grocery store. I may be crazy, but I think the air in the house smells less “stale” somehow. Maybe Dr. Gupta is on to something.

  1. Those picture made me teary eyed. I really, really wanted my kids to be close like that, so I tried to have them close together, but it didn’t work out that way. I have two boys (now 10 and 13), and they have been at each others’ throats since day one. Sigh.

Spider plants are supposed to be among the best plants for purifying the air. They’re cheap and super easy to propagate, too. Buy one and make as many as you want! They’re perfect indoor hanging plants and require minimal care. Great for hanging in windows or corners in any room. I love to garden and have tons of plants inside. I am sure it makes a difference in the air quality. Just think about how fresh and wonderful the air is inside a nursery or arboretum.

Beautiful photographs of sisterly love! I grew up wishing I had a sister, but I never got one. I now have 4 children, who like your daughters are very close to eachother.

I have heard the same thing about house plants and the air quality in our homes. Unfortunately I am not very good at keeping plants (indoors) alive. They don’t seem to like me. I have two currently.

The pictures of BG and LG are beautiful. Cute bums. ;)

It’s been overcast and gloomy in my part of Georgia for many days now, nearly feels like weeks. The forecast calls for more of it too. I like it because it means it’s not as hot, and it reminds me that fall is indeed coming and that soon I’ll smell that crisp cool smell of falling leaves [...]

2 Years

It’s like toddler brains are pre-wired to explode at 2 years of age. It’s simply amazing. While really and truly the first whole 2 years in and of themselves are filled with amazing developments, 2 years old is just a time to cherish and enjoy. BG now speaks in full sentences and her responses are so fun. just the other day [...]
