Give-Away: Bugga Yarn & Country Kiddie Pattern

First it was Wollmeise, then it was Bugga! Sock yarn has taken over the online knitting world (or sometimes it feels that way!). Either way, I was lucky enough to go to SAFF and snag some Bugga! for myself. I have not knit with it yet, but I also bought some with the intention of doing a give-away on the blog. I have two skiens, so there will  be two winners. Each winner will also receive a hard copy of my Country Kiddie pattern, which calls for sock yarn.

This is some amazing yarn, check out the fiber contents:

70% superwash merino, 20% cashmere, 10% nylon
412 yds/4 oz
7-8 sts/” on US#1-2

It retails at $28 and is some of the softest and squishiest yarn I have ever felt.

How To Win

I just ran out of children, they both grew into adults, last one this year.

  2. Jenna says:

Hello, my name is Jenna. I may or may not have a sock yarn problem. I have with-held from purchasing Bugga (well, Skinny Bugga) while it was in stock at the Loopy Ewe because I have plenty of sock yarn I should knit with first. But if I win it, it doesn’t count.

  3. Carla says:

I LOVE knitting! its my way of making the time go by quickly when my husband is on a long shift at the fire station <3

  4. Deb says:

In the last couple of years, I have gotten back into knitting and in August, my oldest daughter and son-in-law gave me another reason to knit for a while–my first grandbaby. Her name is Aurora and I tell everyone that she is our “Disney princess” since Aurora was Sleeping Beauty’s name in the Disney movie. Our Aurora has the biggest dark blue eyes and wavy, dark, auburn hair and would look so cute in the Country Kiddie in the red yarn! I am a fan of Pixie Purls since finding it on Facebook a few months ago. Keep up the good work!!

  5. Ragdoll says:

Squishy doesn’t even begin to describe Bugga! If I’m sittin’ I’m knittin’. I hope you will enter me in the contest – I twitter but I do NOT Facebook.

  6. sue says:

I seem to be addicted to sock yarn lately too and I am thinking of knitting up some patterns which arent socks in it. I just finished a shawl in sock yarn and plan on making some baby gifts now too. I will join Pixie Purls on fb.

  7. shel says:

Hey B… great content. I’ve been wanting to buy some of this yarn but it’s always sold out!

  8. Kelly N. says:

I would love to win so I could make your cute pattern for a good friend who is expecting her first child!!!!

  9. I’ve been knitting for a few years now, but these days I mostly knit baby gifts and sweaters for my 2 year old son. I just started my first sock though, so this yarn is especially appealing. What a generous prize! My email address is ssummerer (at) hotmail (dot) com.

    I love cashmere! :)

  13. Hi,
Last week our pug puppies went missing but through the help of friends and neighbors they were found and returned! I would love to win you yarn and that fiber content sounds great!

  14. melanie says:

My DD would look cute wearing a top made of this yarn; I don’t think my sons would be as cute!

  15. MaryjoO says:

Love reading your Twitter tweets! I’m trying to knit as fast as I can LOL but have stopped all many WIPs to work on an afghan for darling daughter who just got married.

I’m also doing January de-cluttering, and have been amazed how much knitting has “changed” since 2005 when I picked it back up again after about a 15 year hiatus! I seemed to have printed REAMS of patterns which now can be found on Ravelry/stored on Ravelry/or gotten rid of because much better patterns have come out. Those like me who knit :) rather than design are really lucky that those fabulous designers are out there, tweaking patterns and using fabulous yarns for us to try. We are a lucky bunch!

  16. Michelle says:

OHH I’ve so wanted to try the bugga…I tried t snag my friends but she was already knitting a sock with it!

  17. Lin says:

Mmm… cashmere! I’ve been knitting for two years now, and really starting to get the hang of it. Lately I’m knitting for everyone I know, but nothing for myself! These socks will definitely be for me!

Love the blog and love the flickr photos. :)

  18. I would love to try this yarn! Looks so beautiful! Thank you!

  21. Jen says:

Hi! I use sock yarn for other uses, scarves, shawls, gloves. It’s too pretty to hide in socks. :) Thanks for your contest.

Beautiful yarn! Such gorgeous colors. I’m such a sucker…

Something about me knitting wise: I’m the slowest knitter on Earth when it comes to scarves, but that’s what I’m constantly working on. Le sigh.

  26. Erin says:

I’m a horrible tv junkie, and my remote died last night. Today has been rough! Hahaha. :)

Hi! My e-mail is shamupops@gmail.com. My name is Ashley, and something about me is I’m an aspiring professional ballet dancer!
    Thanks for the fun giveaway!

  33. Smrt Mama says:

On my list of 101 things to do in 1001 days, I have “knit a pair of socks.” Perhaps an inspiring sock yarn will be just the thing to actually get me to do it.

  34. Nataly says:

This yarn is gorgeous! Thanks for the chance at winning! I love your site…every pattern is adorable!! I’m a knitter for 3 years now, always ready to try new things and new yarns!

  39. Jazzrizz says:

What a generous offer :) I’d love a chance at winning. Bugga! has to be one of my absolute favorite yarns. So squishy, and the colors are amazing. I’m an avid sock knitter, that has recently discovered a love of shawls knit with fingering weight yarn. Off to become a FB fan . . .

  40. kateyj says:

me? I’m a knitter, dyer, weaver. (I used to be a spinner, but I sold my wheel.)

I’m a huge fan of Bugga!

  41. Missy says:

Hi! I’m Missy, and I looove knitting baby and kids’ stuff! Such a cute pattern, and it would look adorable on my littlest girl!

  42. Gladys says:

What can I share with you that we haven’t already covered in the CPA swap group? Well, I was thinking this morning about my boys and how far they’ve come in just a few years. My second boy’s first bite of food was a bite of a banana that I was eating — he was on my hip, leaned over and just got as much as he could into his mouth. And then didn’t know what to do with it, so he just “nursed” on it — like he was breastfeeding. It was so funny at the time, and now he’s 4 and so self-confident in everything he does.

  43. Julia says:

I just love knitting with sock yarn. It feels so delicate.

  44. Irma says:

I hadn’t heard of bugga yarn prior, go figure considering I’m a handknit sock addict. I have a new niece/nephew (we don’t know which yet) due any day now and am loving using some of the sock yarn stash to make baby sweaters for the little one! I would so love to win, but even if I don’t, I’m glad to know there is another yarn out there that I MUST HAVE!

  45. Stardust B says:

I usually knit shawls, but recently purchased some sock yarn and looove it.

  46. Hilary says:

I just learned to knit this past summer, and I’m a lifer! Thanks for the giveaway!

  47. Whitney says:

Hi!! I am Whitney & I have def. heard of Bugga but never have had a chance to get my hands on any. I have a 2 year old little boy & I work 4 jobs so knitting is squeezed in between everything else. However, I never leave home without my knitting bc you never know when you might get that slow day at work & get paid to knit :)

  48. angel says:

Love your blog. I am also a knitter (sometimes crocheter) and I love feminine knits like cardigan, sweaters, and shawls…and of course I am a yarn addict!
Thanks for the contest and you’re making many knitters and yarn lovers happy!

  49. Antonia says:

I can’t get enough of sock-knitting at the moment. I currently have two pairs on the go. One is very straightforward for knitting on the train or when I’m out and about and can’t concentrate to closely. That’s in self-patterning Fairisle yarn. The other’s a more complicated lace pattern for when I’m at home and can really think about what I’m doing.

  50. Cindy Smith says:

My babies are growing so fast. Freshman in college, senior and junior in high school, and an eighth grader. I didn’t have time to knit when they were small but I am more than making up for it now. A friend is having her second grandchild and I have been busy knitting for that little one!

knitting with a newborn is hard. Actually no, knitting with a newborn AND a toddler in the house, now that’s hard! At night when I *want* to knit, I *need* to sleep. So I don’t get much knitting done. I did manage to knit up an adorable wrap top for LG that I had attempted [...]
