Fruit Loop Love

I have been wanting to make a special section with FO’s from all the talanted knitters who are out there knitting Pixie Purls patterns, but until I get around to that, I just had to show you guys this adorable Fruit Loop knit by Leah over on Ravelry.

Could you not explode with cuteness over that adorable baby? Her top looks perfect, look at how nice her stitches are! Hempathy has a very different texture and is not classified as a “kid” yarn but it’s washable so in my book that is kid friendly. When I wrote that pattern it really was meant for that specific yarn, as it was the exact drape and feel I was looking for. Some of my other patterns I feel look equally good in a variety of yarns, but this design just has such a nice drape and texture with the hemp/cotton blend, it worked perfectly with this top.

The weird thing about Hempathy is that a lot of people have gauge issues with it, such as myself. I had to go WAY down in my needle size to get the normal sport/DK weight gauge, Leah was able to use the needle size reccomended by the yarn, and hers turned out just perfect!

She modified the pattern a tad by adding 3 rows of seed stitch on the bottom of the hem.
